Dear Valued Educator

We would like to thank you for your support over the years for entrusting Moreton Island Wilderness Camp and Trailblazer Tours with your School camps on Moreton Island.

It is with great pleasure that we are able to inform you that Moreton Island Wilderness Camp and Trailblazer Tours have merged operationally to host school groups under the Trailblazer Tours banner going forward.

What does that mean for you?You now have more reliability and options to choose from, a must for any successful school camp, including both camping and dormitory options. We promise quality experiences that will stay within your school’s budget at what is without doubt “the best school camp location in Southeast Queensland.”

Native Title

As you may have observed, the end of 2022 was a very difficult period operationally for both Trailblazer Tours and Moreton Island Wilderness Camp as we navigated government red tape issues surrounding QYAC (Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation) and Native title. Many of our valued schools attempted to make bookings for 2023 without any success due to the uncertainty surrounding government policy and native title affecting our camping conditions. For this we are very sorry, but we are happy to say that we have now come out the other side and are ready to confirm your camp.

We are excited to say that we now have absolute certainty going forward following the acquisition of Castaways Resort by Moreton Island Wilderness Camp. This acquisition limits the reliance on National Parks and QYAC for our camping needs which caused all our concerns in late 2022. The resort and its land is in the heart of the Moreton Island National Park (now known as Gheebulum Kunungai N.P). This acquisition by Moreton Island Wilderness Camp has allowed Trailblazer Tours greater than ever flexibility and certainty for all schools who come and visit Moreton Island, not to mention greater options and inclusions not available to school camp organisers before.
